Behind the paint
Hi, I’m Janie.
I make dreamy, imaginative art from my little corner of Utah.
My work usually begins with a feeling, a memory, or an image I cannot stop thinking about. I am drawn to watery blues, hidden worlds, celestial light, adventurous women, and the tiny details that make ordinary life feel a little more magical. I work through painting, ink, illustration, portraits, and whatever medium the idea calls for.
April Anyway is both a reminder and a little piece of me. April is my birthday month, and “anyway” is my promise to keep creating even when the timing is messy or imperfect. This is a place for everything I make with feeling.
